I spent the weekend with 4 incredible women that I really didn't know. I have to tell you that it really was one of the most incredible experiences I have had in a long time. I learned so many things.
1. Women can be kind to each other.
I always felt like women had it in for me. That I didn't have the "code" for women speak. I don't mean with my close friends but I mean out in the world. I really always have been scared of other women. I have learned that is all comes down to chosing friends wisely.
2. How I feel about stuff really isn't original.
I know that I am a little strange. No, I know this about myself and I am ok with it. I just think that my brain is a mysterious thing. This weekend taught me that I really am not alone in my neurotic thinking. Others are just as neurotic as me. I aint special crazy or anything.
3. Smart capable women rock.
I have never felt smart nor capable but I have discovered if you have women friends that are, they will have you covered. Man o man, watching us all working together was really what got to me. It seemed that it just smoothly played out.
4. Having Chef friends has perks.
I don't think that I need to explain. Cathy Barrow, Mary Reilly, Christine Rudalevige, and Sharon Miro bartender extraordinare wowed the heck out of me.
I love my stranger friends. Julie Gerard I wish you had been here. You would have loved it.
Thank you stranger friends. I will have your back like you had mine. No really.
